Exclamation I vote for a 30 minute limit in GvG

I admit, I'm prefer gve, but when my guild calls I play. Only some of these games last forever. Its going up and down, looks like a stalemate, untill some players get tired, loose concentration and make mistakes. I think there should be a 30 minutes limit on GvG games to prevent everlasting hide and seek sessions. Who's with me?

And what would happen after 30 minutes? Personally, I love how long they are. After the 30 minute mark, the guilds both just start to give up just blowing things apart and actually use some strategy.

The reason I post this is because I notice quite the opposite: After 30 minutes players lose concentration, forget about the strategy and either defend their place hoping the opponent will make mistakes or run forward in an all or nothing attempt. What would happen after 30 minutes without a decesion? well a draw of course!

Have u ever heard of Do or Die ? well thats after the 45min mark when all the Henchi inculding archanists rush tword the middle. Besides my teams always play at highest marks and never straif.

It's called Victory or Death, all the NPCs shout it, and rush forward on the offensive. Damaging attacks/spells/skills are enhanced, healing is lowered.

30mins is too short i think, i came very close to the 45min mark, our guild all had around a 45% dp since around the 25mins mark, and we lasted till 43mins with no healer, i thought it was pretty damn good.

No, maybe its my guild but its not something I know of. Some of our matches come close to 60 minutes, and thats really too long. I'm talking about annihilation. The big deal about PvP/GvG is the abillity to play a quick match when there's a moment of spare time. Those who like long games play PvE or HoH. Ok, maybe 30 minutes is short, yet a timelimit would increase the necessity to think, take decissions and act faster. Now too many teams start without a strategy, sit back when their attack fails, just waiting for a mistake. Of course I'm not talking about elite teams...

Divine Judgement occurs at 40 minutes. The longest ive gone in gvg was 72 minutes. Stupidest match i've ever been in. I know someone who says he had a 92 minute match. Fun Fun.

Ugh! I am NOT hanging around in a GvG for 90 freaking minutes. Loooooong before that point, our callers would have determined if we had a snowball's chance in hell of pulling it out of the toilet and called accordingly.

Yes, I have to agree about the Victory or Death. The longest a fight has lasted after Victory or Death has gone off, was about 5 minuets, and that was one that we were defending and ended up winning. 30 minuets would really be too short in my opinion.

Longest match we had was 90mins. Other team was a fertile season/symbiosis build.

We've had a bunch of 45+ minute matches. Sometimes it just happens, for some reason (be it just that shred of extra Guild Lord damage) or the positioning you can defend your lord or the other team can defend theirs (even if you've killed off all of the other NPCs). We really haven't run into any Guild Lord camping Fertile/Symbiosis build.

*evil laugh* That might be a good strategy, just pack a lot of healing + Fertile + Symbiosis + Elementalists (since they rule under VoD!) and sit at your GL until VoD! *evil laugh*

As far as 'if people are serious and want to play a long time they can go to PvE or HoH'....GvG is the pinnacle of Guild Wars PvP, not the Tombs. If you just have a 'few minutes' grab 3 guildies and go to Team Arenas...don't have any friends on go to Competition Arenas...

Victory or Death! at 30 minutes would be too short, you may actually have a fair number of people 'camping' for it to boost their team build over others (just like they bring spirits and use them when they think it gives them an advantage).

I think we set some kind of record. Over 102mins last match, and not with fertile/symbiosis either.

I'd be for some sort of limit.. maybe after 60 minutes everything on the board has 50% max HP, with 50% more being removed every 5 minutes until everyone has 1HP. It would allow one team to wipe the other team and the lord a lot more quickly, but it's far enough away that people won't build to hold out for an hour and depend on it.

I'm not sure if this is the record, but our Fertile/Symb newbie training build bumped into another Fertile/Symb build with no offense. One of our warrior newbies dropped and we played for 143 minutes before we won. In the same situation vs War Machine, we lost after 46 minutes when they rushed our GL with VoD up and we couldn't heal as fast as they killed, even with Fertile/Symbiosis/Infuse Health spam and Healing Seed. So, long story short, if you really want the battle to end, hit the GL hard at the 45 minute mark and ignore or shut down their healers.
